Make a difference beyond the prescription!

As a Dispensary Technician, you’ll play an important role in helping our patients access the medications they need while providing a welcoming, respectful, and positive experience. From processing prior authorizations and supporting medication adherence to dispensing prescriptions and assisting patients with insurance and payment questions, you’ll help make healthcare more accessible for the communities we serve.

If you’re a bilingual pharmacy professional who is detail-oriented, compassionate, and passionate about helping others, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do

As a Dispensary Technician, you’ll support both the clinical and administrative side of our medication dispensaries, including:

  • Support medication access by processing prior authorization requests, reviewing formulary alternatives, and obtaining required information from providers and insurance companies
  • Connect with patients through medication adherence outreach, refill reminders, and assistance with medication-related questions
  • Dispense medications accurately while verifying prescriptions, insurance information, sliding fee information, and patient profiles
  • Provide excellent patient service by greeting patients, answering questions, collecting co-pays, and helping patients access pharmacists and medication education when needed
  • Work with insurance providers and healthcare teams to troubleshoot coverage issues and facilitate access to medications
  • Support medication assistance programs by identifying and referring eligible patients
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the patient health record, including prior authorizations, approvals, denials, and other relevant information
  • Manage inventory and help ensure medications are properly stocked, organized, labeled, and secured
  • Reconcile daily receipts and co-pay reports and maintain accurate payment records
  • Collaborate across health centers and provide coverage for medication clerks as needed
  • Participate in department meetings, audits, process improvement activities, and other pharmacy-related initiatives.
