What you will do: 

This position is responsible for courteously answering patient calls and scheduling medical and dental appointments. The position is responsible for completing all initial paperwork involved in patient registration and producing the encounter form which allows the patient to be examined by a provider. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Screens incoming patient calls 
  • Answers questions from patients and forwards calls to the appropriate personnel 
  • Verifies health insurance coverage and eligibility 
  • Schedules, reschedules and cancels appointments 
  • Completes patient referrals 
  • Performs other basic medical clerk duties as requested by the Providers, Team Leaders, or Health Center Manager

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required 
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred 
  • Experience in a medical office setting preferred 
  • Ability to function independently in a fast paced/high pressure environment 
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude with patients
