What you will do:
Delaware Valley Community Health (DVCH) is seeking a Dental Hygienist Practitioner to join our Dental Team at our busy multi-cultural ambulatory care center and help provide the most efficient quality dental care to our patients.
The position is located at our Maria de los Santos Health Center dental practice. Occasional travel to other practices as needed for operational coverage. This position is responsible for providing dental prophylactic services and dental education for all patients. Some of your clinical duties will be, but not limited to:
- Take thorough and accurate medical, dental, and personal history.
- Review and update health histories and previous treatment at each appointment.
- Perform an extraoral and intraoral inspection.
- Evaluate and/or record: tooth mobility; inflammatory areas; presence of plaque; presence of calculus; and depth of any periodontal pockets.
- Chart mouth areas with regard to caries; missing teeth; broken teeth; defective restorations; restorations; and prosthodontic appliances.
- Note any verbal/non-verbal indication from the patient concerning their interest or problem regarding oral health.
- Take impressions for study models when indicated.
- Conduct dental health education and nutritional counselling sessions when necessary.
- Take patient's blood pressure and pulse.
- Take digital radiographs.
- Scale with appropriate instruments and polishes teeth.
- Perform soft tissue curettage and root planning.
- Clean any removable appliances and applies sealants.
- Apply fluoride treatment to the teeth, if needed.
- Participate in maintaining designated recall system.
- Participate in the office inventory control program.
- Maintain all equipment, appliances, and instruments under efficient, functional, and sterile conditions to meet OSHA and safety regulations.

Requirements
- Dental Hygienist in Pennsylvania is required.
- Certification as a Public Health Dental Hygienist is preferred.
- Certification for Anesthesia preferred.
- Possession of a current license to practice within the state of Pennsylvania is required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
- Previous dental experience and experience using computers in operatories preferred.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills required.
