What you will do: 

As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, this position is responsible for assisting individuals and families through recovery from alcohol and drug problems as a non-clinical peer support. Under general direction, this position will function as a role model and support to peers, mentor and coach in use of coping skills, act as an advocate and provide training to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. In addition, this position is accountable for data collection and input of all required documentation in the patients’ electronic health record (EHR) and other required reporting.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. 
  • Successful completion of the Certified Recovery Specialist program and examination is also required. 
  • Must be able to travel independently through local service areas. 
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of care team and other colleagues. 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and be able to multitask. 
  • Must be able to present a positive and enthusiastic demeanor while working directly with patients. 
  • Ability to use good reasoning and judgement. 
  • Demonstrate ability to share personal recovery experiences and to develop authentic peer- to-peer relationships. 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
